A popular trend these days among thrifty ladies??besides the obvious buying replica handbags??is renting expensive Louis Vuitton handbags for a limited period of time and then giving them back. Service providers like Bagborroworsteal.com ?or Rentmeahandbag.com allow you to borrow a designer handbag for a predetermined period of time.? On the one hand I can see the appeal of this kind of service.? Change your handbag monthly, carry a designer handbag for less, but really??how many people carried that bag before you?? And what did they do with it?? I know it is pretty terrible but I can be awful with my bag.? With the kids I can be known to throw all kinds of untoward things in my bag.
To Rent or Not to Rent
I think it’s probably obvious, given the running theme of this site, what my position is on the matter. Personally, I’d much rather own a brand-new replica handbag that looks just like the real thing than lug around a bag countless strangers have carried. And moreover, like a lot of ladies, if I had my hands on a Louis Vuitton handbag that I loved, I wouldn’t want to give it back.? I mean even if I hardly use the bag anymore I still love to see it there in my closet gathering dust.? Let`s be honest ,for the same price as renting a bag for a week I could have my own bag for as long as I want but I wonder how much that costs.? If I were more cynical about the subject, I might think that they were getting people hooked on fabulous bags by starting with a rental which leads to countless inevitable purchases at high prices.
Rental Handbags vs. Replica Handbags
Certainly, if you’re the kind of girl who wants to wear only the “of the moment” bag for a fleeting amount of time, and then get rid of it in favor of the next big bag, then bag rental services do seem like a good idea. Personally though, while I do like staying on top of the latest trends, I often go into my closet and re-wear plenty of handbags from previous seasons. I mean, some replica handbags, like a classic monogram replica Louis Vuitton Speedy, simply never go out of style. And I have a sneaking suspicion that many girls who wouldn’t normally dish out thousands of dollars on an expensive designer bags cave and do just that after renting one for a few months, simply because they get so used to having it on their arm and don’t want to see it go.
What do you think? Have you ever used one of these rental services? Do you think they’re a good deal?

Before I found the world of Replica’s.. I had thought about trying the renting service out.. never got around to it but it did cross my mind. Now that I have my replica.. I would NEVER go back.. lol..

Hey Sofia I feel the same as you, why rent at the price the’re asking when you can buy one for almost the same price of rental and keep it

I agree with you ladies as well, for one, I am germaphobic, and two, I am very hard on my shoes and handbags. When I finish with a bag the garbage does not even want it. Too each it’s own, but I feel that renting the bags are a waste, kinda like paying full price for an original Thanks for the great article Sofia!

True, very true. I’d rather keep a bag, collecting dust (on the dust bag) in my closet than know that it isn’t there at all, when I might want to wear it.
Speaking of LV, is there any special method you have to making fake LV vachetta patina like the authentic? I don’t own any LV, real or faux, but I’m thinking of taking the plunge. However, I’ve had friends and experts tell me that the patina is a dead giveaway of real/fake LV. I’ve heard people using oils, but they never give it a honey’d look but rather just alack-luster light brown, kwim? I’m planning on buying a LE bag from awhile ago, so, it needs to have a beautiful patina started. Oh, and do you know any tricks on softening the canvas too?

It is my experience that the replica of today does change colour. It is true that even 5 years ago the leather was always the dead giveaway of a fake bag but the Chinese are a very resourceful people and even that they have now mastered. The important thing though is that you buy top quality replica. Don’t settle for the cheap stuff. Try taking a look at I know their LV changes colour. Of course it won’t arrive that way so you will have to wait a little.
I don’t really have any tricks,Coach Handbags, rather I just buy the good replica in the first place.

Sofia my dear the Galleria to me is superb looking however Replicavalley has two flaws .One the GM Galleria , the LV logo is not engraved on the ring like the orginal ,replica louis vuitton handbags, And The brass is not fully straight cut. Thats why i’m nervous . I sooo love their bags . Whould it look good on my shoulder ???????? No question about it . I love replicavalley for LV. Thanks to you … Take a look for yourself. Girl.. that is a tough call.. I would be on the fence as well.. have you thought of e-mailing replicavalley and asking them about it? I sure would to see what they say and possibly they can find a fix for it in the future.

Hi Maria – I love this bag too – on my wishlist … I compared to another site that has reputed great LVs and they DID have the engraved ring (see – what do you mean by the straight cut – it this the front panel?

Oh my, I just ordered the Galliera PM bag from Replica Valley and now I am nervous. I did not order from Fabaaa as if you look at the bag closely, on the lower right hand corner the LV initials are slanted, a sign of poor workmanship.
I should be getting my Galliera bag in a week so I will report. Is it the ring that attaches the handle to the bag that should be engraved?

I too thought of using the rental sites, but they were worth the monthly rate and what if you damage it??? Then you think you are spending a small amount and end up paying for it…scary. I’m a fan of buying pre-owned authentic LV of classic styles from reputable re-sellers or ebay after getting it authenticated. But…I have also bought a few replicas to see in advance if its a bag I’m willing to pay more for the real thing (stand the test of time). If I decide I want the real thing I just give the replica to my niece or donate. Best of both worlds!
I’m currently looking at Suhali Lockit and I know that there are some good replicas out there…any suggestions??

It looks nice but I don’t trust myself with an all white purse:) I saw a clutch that was a gunmetal greyish black….really nice but I haven’t seen any replicas in that color. I think it was called chrome.

Hey Sofia and everyone! Wanted to let you know how the story ended with my Jimmy Choo bag from ReplicaEstore (the one that had glue spots). So I have emailed them the pics of the bag several times (they gave me 2 different e-mails to send pics to). So they finally responded with apologies and offered 20% off my next order. Not big of an offfer but still they apologised and were very polite so I feel much better now The glue spots though are still on the bag and I can’t get rid of them without damaging the leather but they are not so big so I guess I can live with them. Eek, I would never want to rent a bag, I mean the money you put into renting a bag a couple times you could have just bought one and kept it right? Renting is a waste of money I think unless u r gonna do it only a handful of times in your entire life, but I’m the type who doesn’t like second hand things and likes to keep beautiful things and OWN IT!!!
Though buying a replica that is indistinguishable from authentic is top priority for me, I know some girls don’t care as long as its good quality but I live in Vegas and go to LA a lot and we have Louis Vuitton left and right and most people here carry authentic bags including myself, so the replicas I buy must live up to my authentics, I want to be able to actually GO INSIDE and browse the Louis Vuitton store with my replica without feeling embarrassed. I actually have one replica (My old LV bucket which was bought from AAAreplicas a few years ago that held up beautifully and there is not a single flaw on it, at the Louis store its admired by salespeople. There is no point buying a replica if it cannot live up to the real thing, though it depends on each persons social setting.

Hi there. I just thought I’d give my input on rentals… I used to rent totes on occasion from Bag Borrow or Steal, and most of the time, they were of considerably *lower* quality than the replicas I love to buy from places like Replica Valley, Posh Moda and Bagaholics. They were often heavily used, scuffed,Gucci, sometimes dirty, sometimes with scratched hardware. Also, I got so used to having a new bag on my shoulder that if by luck it wasn’t scuffed or dirty, I’d often cave in and forfeit usually over $1,000 to purchase it, which I almost ALWAYS regretted!
Having been introduced to top-tier replicas, I’d say they are a much, much better option. I’ll never look back!
